Love this idea! In college I TA'd for a science professor who taught Gen Ed science to 1,000 kids a year at a massive state school. He was a professor of etymology, but he decided to make it a climate course - which, since we were there to study earth science, actually made a ton of sense. It changed my life, helping me become a climate activist, and I'm sure it made a lasting impact on our students too.
In Alberta Canada the provincial government has mandated that children learn about our "ETHICAL oil and gas industry." lets hope we have teachers who learned science.

I meant to post this comment earlier... Parsons School of Design has had a required first year course for ten years now called Sustainable Systems.
