Please consider writing about the drastic reduction in energy required to heat and cool houses in areas like Toronto and Chicago by using the standards developed through the building of the Saskatchewan Conservation House. We (Braden Homes) brought this technology to Ontario in 1980 and demonstrated without fail (150 times) how low tech building using affordable and familiar products could reduce enrgy requirements by up to 85%. The solution to low rise, residential construction has been around for OVER 40 YEARS.
Please check out my posts on how and why the EPA should expand its authority, declare the atmosphere a Superfund site thereby legally forcing the fossil fuel industry to initiate the remediation of the CO2 in the atmosphere.
Yes! More city trees. And that does not mean more single family houses with green space on all four sides. Car storage takes up a lot of Land.
Going into workplaces less that 5 days/week is also a good idea -- less commuting, more daily flexibility. Fully remote is fine for some kinds of work, but I think most people find value is face to face interactions that 2/5 or 3/5 permits.
The urban glacier is real. Urban sprawl is real. What is also real is we need to free the soil that is entombed in urban centers. Cement and asphalt (impermeable) are suffocating the soil. The is a difference between landscaping and forestry. A park is not a forest.
Thank you very much for sharing your insightful information on climate change. I greatly appreciate your efforts in raising awareness and providing valuable data on such a critical issue. Your work is incredibly important, and I am grateful for the knowledge you have shared.
How about holding "environmentalists" who fail to advocate for and politicians who fail to pass taxation of net CO2 emissions accountable?
