I’m surprised that you didn’t mention the Christian Science Monitor as a climate change news source. They have had strong, plentiful reporting since the early 1990’s when The NY Times and other mainstream news organizations were barely covering the climate crisis and they have included the positive actions as well as the difficult reporting on how we are, overall, failing to do what is needed.

Well said. The good news is out there. You just have to look for it ‘cause it wont be on page one. Like a bird’s spring song, if you dont listen, you won’t hear. Another thing to do is to write a paper letter to your legislator, state and federal. That you took the time means the world to them. Talk about what concerns you. Keep it local and personal. For example, the crocuses are blooming earlier, not as many monarch butterflies, or more stormwater overflow, flooding or draughts. Ask them to do something about climate change (without apocalyptic wording). Be reasonable and they will write back in indicating they are with you, perhaps by purchasing an EV. Whatever, you established a relationship, individual to individual. When a bill or action comes up, write to the legislator urging action and you may have a champion. And regardless of that opportunity, there will be more actions. The legislator will take your calls and visits. Play the long game for us all.

I've been a positive news obsessive for years now.

I avoid the news to try to keep my worldview more balanced away from only the negative, and yet ... I still clicked on this article, the first of yours I've read despite having been subscribed for months.

Goes to show how deep our thirst for armageddon and disaster goes.
