Canada is slowly leaning into renewable energy and alternative ways to produce power. Sadly, there is still a long way to go. Governments aren’t super helpful and there remain a ton of barriers to renewable energy. That being said there are pockets of innovation and lots to look forward to.
Love your last point. I think people are becoming more and more open about these things as they start to feel the effects of climate change themselves. Small wins matter!
It's such an easy win – no sweating behind the lawnmower, no waiting for a break in the showers to get out and cut the grass, no racing to the station to get petrol because you've run out. Yet many simply cannot bring themselves to give up the mower.
I think the reason lies in our obsession with tidiness and order. It is hard to shake off generations of being told to keep everything tidy.
Sometimes, cutting just the edges – especially where they border neighbours' property – and sticking a sign up to say that the unkempt garden is intentional can make a big difference – and spark unexpected conversations!
The solar power farm sounds like an amazing idea in concept - and anything is better than diesel energy really. The main issue with solar, however, is the amount of space is takes up and the 30 acres that need to be cleared for this solar farm. I think that in the future (or I hope) that engineers will find a way to maximize the amount of energy absorbed but minimize the amount of space required.
Im said that addressing climate change is crucial for the well-being of our planet and future generations. It requires collective action on both individual and governmental levels to reduce carbon emissions, transition to renewable energy sources, protect ecosystems, and adapt to the changes already ununderway .it is good effort .

It's sad that it took people actually being effected to make them care - but at least they care!
Bang on about leaving the grass grow.
